Enchanted Evening: know before you go
Juniors and seniors are invited to the 2022 “Enchanted Evening,” Prom which takes place on April 30, from 7 P.M. to 11 p.m. at the Suburban Showplace in Novi.
Prom will look different than it did last year, instead of the red carpet and the outside “senior sunset” replacement, it will be back to the normal dance style.
“At this time, we don’t really know what the COVID restrictions are going to look like, but we will follow the county’s COVID protocols, so whatever the county recommends at the time we will follow their lead,” junior Student Council Secretary Makayla Stewart said.
Students can attend with 10 other students to be considered a group and sit at a table together for dinner. Dinner options will be available in the near future for students, as well as dietary restriction forms.
Students can print out the attached ticket form in the Prom 2022 email sent out by secretary Jen Galligan on March 9. Students are advised to bring it up to the ticket table at lunch when purchasing tickets.
Tickets are $80 per person, and students looking to attend in a group should purchase all their group members’ tickets together. Groups will have to fill out a group form in order to attend with said group, attached in the email from Jen Galligan. The designated person purchasing the tickets for the group should have everyone’s paperwork when buying tickets at lunch.
The junior student council highly suggests that students purchase their tickets together, and have one person handle all the money and forms. The other option is to have everyone in the group purchase tickets on the same day individually.
If students do not have a group of 10, tables of groups with less than 10 members may be combined. The selections are final once a table is filled out and paid for.
Unlike homecoming, students are allowed to bring guests from other schools. Students will have to fill out a guest form prior to purchasing tickets and turn the form into the office. If the guest is a freshman or sophomore from Novi, the student will not need to fill out the guest form.
Prom royalty will be chosen at random in a raffle during Prom. Students who want to be considered royalty can enter their name to be drawn at the event.
Stewart said that this prom has a lot to offer, with surprise party favors different from previous years.
“We wanted something that students can keep and not trash in a couple of weeks after prom. Something more meaningful,” Stewart said.
If there are any questions that were not answered in the email sent to students, students are advised to ask Katie James in Room 192.
“The experience will be worth it for students to celebrate their years with their peers,” said Stewart.
