This year’s fall play, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” will happen October 26, 27, and 28 at 7 p.m. in the NHS Black Box Theater. General tickets will cost $10.00 and $8.00 for seniors and children under 12. The play is based on the novel by Mark Haddon, and adapted by Simon Stephes.
The show is about a teenage boy with autism which makes his life difficult. At one point in the play, he finds a dead dog, which triggers a mystery and brings up questions about his parents. The play will have a dog acting, which brings a difference to a traditional school play. Students are giving their all to make this art. They control the scenery, put together costumes, and make the magic happen.
Sophomore Sadie Charles is the hair and makeup head, in addition to playing multiple roles in the show, namely Mrs. Gascoyne.
“It is cool to see everything that happens behind the scenes and take part in everything,” Charles said. “I think it’s a really interesting story. Our actors are doing a great job; it’s funny to go see.”
Sophomore Lilly Balino plays Mrs. Alexander and Punk Girl in this play. In addition to being one of the actresses, she is part of the sound design, make-up and construction team.
“I’m interested because I wanted to create music, so that’s why I’m in sound design,” Balino said. “My favorite character is definitely Punk Girl. I’m biased because I play her and she’s great.”
It will be a magnificent play with great actresses and actors. Tickets can be purchased via at the door or online: https://search.seatyourself.biz/webstore/accounts/novihs/buy-tix.
